Hey.
Remember when Julie Andrews showed her boobs and it was astonishing?
Good times.
I grew up in the theater, myself. And tho I was surprised she did it, I wasn't shocked. Nobody who's spent a lifetime in the theatrical arts -- no matter how pure the public thinks they are -- is a naïf. There are no babes in the woods in theater.
I watched that oddly charming Stephen Colbert "Only In Monroe" video. It was actually quite pleasing.
And Jeff Daniels drops some food on the floor, then picks it up and eats it. And he describes doing the same thing on stage, on Broadway, with another actor, and he says, "I broke him."
And it's throwaway. No follow-up. People who've never done theater might not even know what he meant.
But causing another actor to break character is, amongst actors, considered a high art.
