If helium is so important and rare (it is), why are we still filling party balloons with it?

I propose switching to hydrogen for party balloons.

(Might need some warning labels to keep away from birthday candles and to not inhale.)

@scuttlebutt helium used in balloon gas is impure and often a byproduct from decommissioning old medical and scientific equipment - it is still not feasible (or cost effective) to refine it to a standard where it could be reused in the more critical applications..
