No, I don't want to look at deduped block based backups, not for my personal home data. Not unless it was baked into the local os and everything else along the tiered backups as a default supported thing. I managed stuff like that when I was working and it was a big time sink keeping it running happily with enterprise equipment and top line vendor support.
And even then, we did some plain old file based rsync as well in case the deduped block based stuff shit the bed. Belt + Suspenders.
