@renardboy My city's dump has a specific set of shelves for these to be dropped off in. Another for electronics.
Also there is annual electronics recycling drives with people that will unload the stuff out of the back of your car into appropriate areas prior to doing whatever with them.
I think our fire department will also take paint and chemicals as well for disposal.
